What should I consider before applying to the Amazon Freight Partner (AFP) programme?
We are looking for candidates who love the idea of building their own company and growing teams, and have the determination and leadership required to roll up their sleeves and deliver results. Running a trucking business is hard work and a hands-on operation. This opportunity may not be a good fit for those looking to make a passive investment, work part-time, or run a trucking business in multiple locations/regions.
We look at a wide range of information on each applicant, including work history and financial information, to determine eligibility for the programme. Successful candidates must have £48.5K in liquid assets to secure an operating license for 10 trucks. If you feel that you could be a good fit, we encourage you to
request information and learn more.
Are there any resources available to learn more about the programme?
We encourage you to
request information to learn more about the programme. As you progress in the application process, you will have a chance to speak with our Amazon Business Development Managers to address any doubts or questions you may have.
What are your plans to expand the programme into other regions?
We are continually growing this programme to empower more carriers and entrepreneurs to create jobs for their communities. A list of our available locations can be found

The Amazon Freight Partner programme is currently designed for owners to operate within a single region.
Can I be an Amazon Freight Partner outside of the United Kingdom?
In addition to the United Kingdom, Amazon Freight Partner is active in the
United States and
Germany. What is the difference between the Amazon Freight Partner programme and the Delivery Service Partner programme?
Amazon Freight Partner (AFP) move Amazon freight between sites, such as warehouses and delivery stations, within the Amazon network. Your company would hire 15–30 commercial drivers to operate a fleet of up to 10 trucks. Under specific circumstances, AFPs can grow their fleet even up to 15 trucks. You would choose where to operate your AFP business: in a rented space, home office, or other location. To get to know more about AFP,
request information.
Delivery Service Partners (DSP) deliver individual orders to the homes of Amazon customers and lead a team of 30–70 drivers who don't require commercial driver licenses. DSP businesses must operate out of an Amazon delivery station.

What is the difference between the Amazon Freight Partner programme and Relay Load Board?
The Amazon Freight Partner (AFP) programme offers a long-term partnership where the trucking company moves loads for Amazon. As an AFP, you will have the option to access state-of-the-art Amazon-branded trucks, ongoing maintenance, and many other services throughout the partnership (although you can always choose to use your own solutions). To get to know more about AFP,
request information.
Relay Load Board (RLB) is a tool that trucking companies use to find, and instantly book, loads to move for Amazon. Companies operating in this programme can move freight for other companies in addition to Amazon.

Can I operate in multiple programme types for Amazon?
If you choose to join the Amazon Freight Partner (AFP) programme you can only operate within this programme.
What is my relationship with Amazon?
As an Amazon Freight Partner (AFP), you will have a commercial relationship with Amazon. The AFP programme offers a long-term partnership, by which your company will move Amazon freight in the middle-mile sector, receiving consistent work, support and Value Added Services (VAS) offerings to help you run and optimise your business. You will be an independent contractor of Amazon and you will have exclusive responsibility in operating your business, including recruiting and hiring drivers, motivating and coaching your team, creating a culture of safety, etc.
How much money will I make?
Your company’s actual annual revenues and profits will vary based on a number of expected and unexpected factors such as, for example, fleet size, regional operational costs, and how effectively you manage your team and overall business. We estimate that most partners will generate £1.1M-£1.6M in revenue and £60K-£200K in profit annually. These ranges are estimates only for companies operating 10 to 15 trucks. Actual results can vary. Details can be found
here.
If you continue with the application process, we will share more detail and you’ll have the ability to review the rate card and evaluate all of your financials to see if this programme is right for you.
What kind of support services would Amazon offer access to?
Amazon will offer an opportunity to lease Amazon branded trucks, which you can access without down payment. We also offer other services related to insurance, fuel and more.
How many trucks can I run with the Amazon Freight Partner (AFP) programme?
With AFP, you will be able to grow your fleet to up to 10 trucks (or under specific circumstances even up to 15 trucks); however, there is no guarantee that your company will grow to 10 trucks. Growing to 10 trucks is based on a combination of your safety and performance scores, and available demand where your company operates, among others. If requested, you will have the option to access the AFP truck program to lease Amazon-branded trucks. They are state-of-the-art trucks, which also include maintenance services and the best-in-class safety features.
Do I have to start with all 10 trucks at once?
You can start with between 1 and 3 trucks. Your Business Coach will work with you on a timeline to ramp up to 10 trucks (or under specific circumstances up to 15 trucks).
If I decide to exit the programme, what would the process be?
As part of the programme policies, we have a 30-day notice period, in which you will work with your Business Coach to organize the exit. In case you are operating Amazon-branded trucks, you will be required to return them and be liable for any damage to the equipment.
What kind of operation do Amazon Freight Partners manage?
Amazon Freight Partners carry freight across the Amazon network of warehouses and delivery stations. The current programme includes shifts with round-trip tours. This schedule allows your drivers to be home at the end of every shift.
Can I operate within the programme with my own trucks?
If you have trucks on your own, you can use them in the Amazon Freight Partner programme if they are less than 5 years old. In order to grow your fleet up to 10 trucks (or 15 trucks under specific circumstances), Amazon has negotiated a “lease” option that would enable you to lease Amazon-branded trucks designed for this programme from a third party fleet management company. As part of the lease, the maintenance, repairs and a truck replacement (in case of damage) services are included.
What happens if I need support to recruit drivers?
Amazon will support you by providing guidance on best practices to recruit. Additionally, if requested, you will have access to a third party recruitment agency that offers access to professional recruiters, staffing agencies, and advertising support to help meet your hiring needs. Please note that these resources offered to you are optional and are designed to empower you to make the best hiring decisions for your company (Amazon will not make employment decisions on your behalf).
